About GymNudge
GymNudge exists to help gym owners stop losing members silently. Most members never cancel; they just stop showing up and quietly let their membership lapse. We built GymNudge so owners can catch that early and do something about it.
The problem we set out to solve
Talk to almost any gym owner in India and you will hear the same thing: the hardest part is not signing new members, it is keeping the ones you have. Members drift away without warning. A regular who came four times a week slowly fades to once a week, then stops. By the time the owner notices the empty slot, the member is already gone, and so is the revenue.
The information needed to catch this almost always exists, sitting in a register at the front desk or scattered across a few apps. What is missing is something that watches the pattern and tells the owner, in plain terms, who needs a call today. That is the gap GymNudge fills.
What we believe
- Retention beats acquisition. Keeping a member is cheaper and more valuable than chasing a new one.
- Follow-up should feel personal. GymNudge opens WhatsApp on the owner's own phone with the right message, rather than blasting automated texts.
- No gym should be forced to change how it takes money. We track renewals whether members pay by cash, UPI, or bank transfer, and we never force digital payments.
- Software should reduce work, not add it. We set up your member list for you, for free, so the tool is useful from day one.
The person behind GymNudge
I am Shubham Unavane, based in Mumbai and originally from Sangamner, Maharashtra. Before building GymNudge, I spent over seven years working in digital advertising, client acquisition and business growth, helping companies use marketing and technology to grow.
I also train regularly, so I have seen the gym business from a member's side. But GymNudge did not come from my assumptions alone. It came from speaking with neighbourhood gym owners and managers who were still tracking members through registers, Excel sheets and scattered WhatsApp conversations.
The same problems kept coming up: renewals were missed, payments required repeated follow-ups, inactive members disappeared quietly, and owners had no simple view of what needed attention each morning. That is why I started building GymNudge.
I also understand that trusting a new product with member and payment information is a serious decision. Your gym's data remains your data. GymNudge is being built with strict separation between gyms, limited data access and the ability to export your information. During the early stage, I am personally involved in onboarding, feedback and support.
How we work with gyms
GymNudge runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet, or desktop, with nothing to install for you or your members. It works alongside whatever software you already use, so there is no migration and no need to replace your current setup. Send us your member list, even as photos of a register, and we enter it for you. Inactivity and renewal tracking start working from day one.
